Viking's vision for all pupils
Be the best you can be
Article 29 = Goals of education = Education must develop every child’s personality, talents and abilities to the full. It must encourage the child’s respect for human rights, as well as respect for their parents, their own and other cultures, and the environment.
Our values and ethos are directly underpinned by our commitment to being a Rights Respecting School.
The Rights Respecting ethos enables children to grow-up being the best person that they can possibly be while respecting the rights of themselves and others. Rights are taught explicitly through assemblies and lessons; implicitly through modelling and are displayed in every aspect of school life (behaviour charters and displays).
Educating the pupils about the UNCRC is a reoccuring theme throughout assemblies, lessons and the culture of the school. It is also directly linked to our curriculum drivers and our teaching of the British Values.
