ESOL CLASSES - English Language Programme for New Arrivals
These Basic English classes are part of a programme which focuses on supporting and welcoming new arrivals and their their dependents to the UK into the local area through conversational English language practise, providing opportunities to find out about local facilities and services, cultural orientation and time to get to know people from the local area.
It will be an enjoyable and social space for everyone involved with opportunities for mutual sharing of skills and knowledge and opportunities to make friends for the host community and for new arrivals and their families to not only improve their English language skills, but also to better integrate with their local communities.
Activities will include:
- Participatory storytelling, highlighting shared values, and encouraging participation and learning across cultures;
- Introductions to life in the UK;
- Signposting and registrations for local services, schools and childcare, job agencies and employment schemes;
- Opportunities for English-language learning;
We are delivering weekly sessions in Harrow and in Ealing, lasting two hours.

Eligibility: These sessions are open to everyone. Everyone is welcome. Our aims are to bring the whole community together, rather than being exclusively for new arrivals. Families are welcome to come along. Unfortunately we do not have any childcare facilities available at any of the above locations.
There is no need to register, individuals can join a session at any time. No formal eligibility requirements.

BASIC IT CLASSES: Digital Inclusion Support for Older People (55+)
Our new digital inclusion service aims to reach older people (55+) who have been digitally and socially excluded and equip them with the skills needed to make and maintain meaningful connections with others.
We are supporting older people directly to learn new digital skills that will allow them to communicate online, and offer further regular support via online group sessions as well as through in-person training sessions.
As part of our support we are providing 'Free Remote Digital Skills Training' to older learners who needs help using either a computer, laptop or tablet device from their own home including access to free online courses and resources. Personalised support and training is provided through one-to-one or group sessions via video calls using 'Zoom' or 'Google Meet'.
Through this service individuals can learn the following topics:
- Using your computer or device - How to use a keyboard, a mouse, a touch screen and computer
- Online basics - Using the internet, Using online forms, Using email and Using search engines
- More internet skills - Video calling, Online shopping, Socialising online, Using Facebook, Using a digital camera, Watching and listening online
- Online safety - Keeping your device safe, Being safe online and Keeping your personal data safe
- Improving your health online - GP services online and the NHS website
- Managing your money online - Online and mobile banking and making money work
- Public services online - Benefits of online services, National government services, Local council services and Universal Credit
- Plus more!

West Ealing Community Library

Every Thursday
From 10.30am to 12.30pm
To join this IT session, individuals can simply drop-in during the times they take place to speak with the tutor and register to start straightaway or at another more convenient time.
Eligibility: These digital skills training sessions are ideal for older learners, aged 55 years and above, who are interested in improving their IT skills and want to become more confident with being online.
We are also able to provide a limited number of FREE data connectivity options to anyone experiencing data poverty and who is unable to afford internet access.
